Perspectives In Nuclear Physics At Intermediate Energy - Proceedings Of The 6th Workshop

A series of new and relevant experimental results are here presented to the community for the first time. In particular, we refer to the measurement of the neutron spin structure functions by the SLAC (E142) and CERN (SMC) collaborations; the first results from MAMI on experiments with tagged photons (A1 collaboration), on electroproduction of multi-hadron final states (A2 collaboration) and the neutron form factor (A3 collaboration); the experiments on strangeness photoproduction at ELSA; the polarization experiments at Bates on the neutron form factor and nuclear response functions and the photon and electron scattering data obtained by the Genova-Frascati Jet Target collaboration.Focused on the study of spin observables and exclusive processes at high momenta, the following sessions were held: The Neutron Form Factors; Spin Structure Functions; Exclusive Processes at High υ and Q2. Deep Inelastic Scattering; Spin Observables; One- and Two-Nucleon Knockout at Low and Intermediate Energies; Excitation of Baryons Resonances and Strangeness.

Electron-nucleus Scattering

The workshop aimed to gather the electron scattering community to assess the present status of the experimental and theoretical research program at the electron scattering facilities that will be available in the near future. The topics discussed include nucleon form factors and deep inelastic structure functions, electro-production of nucleon resonances, final state interactions and nucleon-nucleon correlations in nuclei, electron-nucleon scattering with polarized beams and targets and nuclear transparency. Contents:The Nucleon and Its Resonances (F Iachello)Precise Determinations of the Neutron Magnetic Form Factor (J Jourdan)The Form Factors of the Nucleons (G G Petratos)Nucleon Resonance...

NSTAR 2004

This book covers recent advances in the field of nucleon resonances presented at the IX International Workshop on the Physics of Excited Baryons, NSTAR2004. A complete overview of the most recent experimental results obtained worldwide on baryon spectroscopy is presented together with theoretical progress on related topics ranging from resonance parameters extraction to lattice-QCD calculations through effective field theory. Of particular interest, a large part of the book is devoted to exotic states with quantum numbers of pentaquarks, whose recent discovery represents a new chapter in hadronic physics. The proceedings have been selected for coverage in: • Index to Scientific & Technical...

Sixth International Conference on Perspectives in Hadronic Physics

"The aim of the Conference was to discuss recent results and perspectives on the theoretical and experimental investigation of the structure of free hadrons and hadrons in the nuclear medium, as well as the structure of hadronic matter both at normal and extreme conditions. The volume is a useful update of the subject for theorists and experimentalists working in medium and high energy nuclear physics." "The book is written for young and senior scientists working in theoretical and experimental nuclear and high energy physics."--BOOK JACKET.
